ZDENKO BAŠIĆ

Zdenko Bašić was born on 27th of January 1980 in Zagreb, where in 1999 he graduated from the School of Applied Art and Design, Department of Graphic Design. He graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, Department of Animation, with a 10 minutes long stop motion film Snow Story - Angels in Snow, and received an award for best graduated students.
So far he has illustrated several books for children; since 2004 he has been cooperating with The Merlin Theatre as a costume designer, scenographer and graphic designer.
In 2005 he was nominated for The Grigor Vitez Award for best literal and art publishing in children's books and picture-books.
2006 he received the second price on The First Croatian Biennale of Illustration in Zagreb. With the same picture-book he received the Kiklop award for the best book design in 2006.
From 2006 he has been collaborating with the London The Brigh Agency and other British publishers.
